Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 3, 2026
DreamScape (“DreamScape”, “we”, “us”) builds an AI sleep-soundscape app for iOS and Android. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what the DreamScape app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
The short version
- No account. We don’t ask for your name, email, or a login.
- Your sleep history stays on your device. It’s never uploaded.
- Motion sensing happens on your device and is never transmitted.
- We use a few standard services — analytics, crash reporting, weather, and subscriptions — described below.
- We never sell your data.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
None directly. DreamScape has no sign-up: we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any login.
b. Sleep & usage data stored on your device
Your sleep sessions (chosen mood, duration, timestamps), your preferences (default mood, timer, adaptive/weather toggles), and a free-trial-night counter are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us, and they are deleted when you uninstall the app.
c. Usage analytics — Google Firebase Analytics
We log a small number of aggregate events to understand how the app is used and to improve it: starting a sleep session (with the chosen mood, preset, timer, and whether adaptive mode was on), completing onboarding, viewing the subscription screen, and subscribing. Firebase may also collect standard technical information such as device model, operating-system version, app version, approximate region (derived from IP address), and a randomized installation identifier. We use this only in aggregate and not to personally identify you.
d. Crash & error reports — Sentry
When the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a technical diagnostic report (such as the error type, stack trace, device model, OS version, app version, and app state) so we can fix bugs. Sentry is configured for crash/error reporting only (no performance profiling). These reports are technical and are not used to identify you.
e. Approximate location (optional) — OpenWeatherMap
If you turn on the weather-adaptive feature and grant location permission, the app reads your approximate (coarse) location once and sends those coordinates to OpenWeatherMap to fetch your local weather (for example, to blend real rain sounds into your soundscape). We do not store your location on any server of ours. If you deny location permission, the app works normally without the weather feature.
f. Motion & accelerometer (on-device only)
If you enable the Adaptive feature, the app reads device motion to gently adjust the soundscape when you move. This processing happens entirely on your device; motion data is never transmitted to us or stored.
g. Subscriptions & purchases — RevenueCat + Apple/Google
When you subscribe, the Apple App Store or Google Play processes your payment. We use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status. We receive subscription information such as whether you have an active subscription, the product purchased, trial status, and an anonymous app-user identifier. We never receive your full payment-card details.
2. How we use information
- Provide and run the app (play soundscapes, adaptive features, weather blending).
- Manage your subscription and free-trial access.
- Understand aggregate usage to improve features.
- Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:
- Google Firebase (Analytics) — usage analytics. See the Firebase and Google privacy policies.
- Sentry — crash/error reporting. Privacy policy.
- OpenWeatherMap — weather lookup (receives approximate coordinates only when you use the weather feature). Privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data retention
- On-device data (sleep history, settings) remains until you delete it in the app or uninstall.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by the respective providers according to their own policies, typically for a limited period.
5. Your choices & rights
- Location: deny or revoke permission in your system settings; the weather feature simply turns off.
- Motion: turn off Adaptive in the app’s Settings.
- Analytics: you can limit analytics/ad tracking through your device settings (for example, iOS “Allow Apps to Request to Track”, or limiting ad tracking on Android).
- Delete data: uninstalling the app removes all on-device data. To request deletion of analytics or crash data associated with your device, email us at the address below.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
6. Children’s privacy
DreamScape is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We rely on reputable providers and standard safeguards to protect data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date here and, for material changes, may also notify you in the app.
